Handling Adversity

If you live your life on purpose you will be very good at handling adversity as you will see right through it. The successful people in life always put their energy into the attainment of their goals and desires not into obstacles and adversity.

Face it. There will always be obstacles. However, if you have a goal that is as big as a mountain a little speed bump or a little adversity in your path will not deter you. All you see is that mountain top and you at the summit.

Challenges or adversity is what separates the successes from the failures. Where people who fail, or have some adversity will quit, the successful people learn from it and continue to move forward toward their goal or dream.

In the words of the immortal Emerson "The whole course of things goes to teach us faith. We need only obey. There is guidance for each of us, and by lowly listening, we shall hear the right word."

So hear this, "Our only limitations are those we set up in our own minds." Napoleon Hill the author of Think and Grow Rich wrote that and I love that statement.

As always we have a choice as to how we handle adversity. We can let it destroy us and our dreams. Or, we can accept it, learn from it, and continue to put all energy into the attainment of the goal.

Learn to handle adversity and you are one giant step closer to living life on purpose.

Spending Time Constructively

Last weeks topic on feelings is a nice set-up for this weeks topic on spending time constructively. We as humans spend all of our time doing. We are always doing something and if we have even a moment of calm we spend our time thinking about what to DO next!

Instead of always feeling the need to do something, how about spending all of our time just being. Be the person that reaches his or her goals and is living an abundant lifestyle. Then do what they do.

Concentrate on the tasks that are truly important and are going to lead you towards the attainment of your goals. Focus on the 20% of tasks that are going to lead to 80% of your results. Do not waste time on the tasks that produce the opposite effect (80% of tasks that lead to 20% of the results).

This really is a vitally important concept to understand. So many people procrastinate and put off the important tasks and fill their days with activities that produce little or no significant result.

By focusing on the important 20% of tasks you will be so much more efficient in your days that you will find you actually have a lot of time left over. You will feel fulfilled knowing you did everything you could to produce the result you are after and you will also notice that circumstances start to align themselves with what you have deemed important and begin to line up the people, places, and events that will allow you to stay focused on these tasks.

Be the leader. Be the person that attains their goals. Be the person that spends their time constructively. This is just one more example of how to live life on purpose.

How Are You Feeling?

No, I am not a doctor nor do I have any interest in becoming one. However, the question that I just asked is probably more relevant coming from me than it would be from the good old doc.

The reason is simple. You will attract people, circumstances, and events that are a perfect match to exactly how you are feeling.

So let's say that you are out and about on a beautiful summers day and you just feel awesome. The temperature is just right, you are with the person or people you love, you've just finished an incredible meal and you feel on top of the world. When you are feeling great like this you are in perfect vibrational alignment to continue to attract the circumstances and events that make you feel great. Maybe your waiter or waitress gives you a VIP discount on your meal, maybe your cell phone rings and a friend is inviting you out on their boat for the rest of the day. Whatever it may be it will be a perfect match.

The one thing that I must emphasize is just like you attract positive events when you feel great, you certainly attract the same level of negative events when you feel bad or angry or fearful.

This is why, when you live life on purpose, you keep yourself in a place of feeling great so that you keep the law of attraction working for you in a positive way (it is always working)!

It is nowhere near good enough to talk like you are positive and upbeat but deep down you are fearful or negative. You must make it a feeling. The law of attraction will not be fooled by words, it works in accordance with how you feel.

Remember this the next time you are feeling less than great. How you feel is a choice just like anything else. Start living your life on purpose and choose to feel fantastic.

Take Action NOW

It is actually pretty amazing how many people talk about what they want and if they only had more money, more time, a better job, a more understanding spouse, better genetics or whatever, there life would be so much more. Well how many people are doing anything to improve their perceived situation? It's usually a whole lot of talk and very little action. It's really incredible how people put themselves in a box and determine that they can only do so much because of their "situation". How many people just decide "I can't do that", without even trying. They limit themselves to their tiny little world and just keep doing the same things day after day, month after month, year after year. Instead of complaining, and acting out the poor me routine, I challenge any of you reading this who this resonates with to take some action right now. Challenge yourself to learn about something that interests you or that will improve your life situation. Take action. Get out of your comfort zone right this minute. Be a leader, be a person of action and watch your life take off. Don't just read this and do nothing. That was you in the past. From today on you are a person of action and the time to take action is NOW. This will allow you to start living life on purpose.

6 Ways To Turn Your Desires Into Gold

Number one: fix your mind on the exact amount of money that you intend to acquire. Be specific. Write down that number. Say that number aloud. Repeat it to yourself daily.

Number two: Determine what you will give in return for the money. Remember, there is no free lunch. It’s not possible to get something for nothing.

Number three: Establish a definite date that you intend to possess the money. Again, be specific. And know this – it’s pertinent that you work towards your goal until the last minute of the last hour of the last day. Keep your faith that you have already achieved your goal and watch circumstances present themselves before you that you never imagined possible.

Number four: create a definite plan and put it into “action”. It’s not enough just to wish away and hope for your dreams to come true. Create a plan. Sit down and ask yourself – what can I do NOW to move me closer to my goal? And then take action on that. Begin at once, whether you are ready or not.

Number five: write out a clear and concise statement of the amount of money you wish to desire, the time and the date you intend to acquire it on and what you will give in return for the money and describe clearly the plan through which you intend to accumulate it.

Number six: read your statement aloud every day, twice a day. Once before you arise and once before you retire into bed. See, feel, and believe yourself already in “possession” of the money.

Remember: winners never quit, and losers never win. Are you a winner or a loser? Winners will take the action outlined above. Losers won’t even read this.

Goals vs.Obstacles

Okay. Last week we talked about becoming clear on our goals and putting them on paper. I will assume that everyone has now taken that action and is referring to them at least twice a day (upon rising in the morning, and in the evening before bed). What a great way to begin and end the day. The first thing you feel in the morning upon reading the goal is inspiration and purpose. The last thing you feel before shutting your eyes is excitement and joy. These are all very powerful emotions.
Now let's suppose in between waking in the morning and retiring in the evening you actually have some obstacles come up throughout the day (some people will call this drama)!! How do you handle it? Do you freak out and break into a sweat ? Are you anxious and overwhelmed? Do you feel like your life just isn't fair and that other people don't have to deal with all this stuff? If you are like most people you get caught up in your drama and end up becoming a victim of your "situation" rather than being a creator of your reality. This is where a clear vision of your goals will keep things in perspective and allow you to remember what your purpose truly is.
Picture the boss walking in and telling you that you are going to have to stay late to finish up a project. You have plans this evening and now work is throwing off your schedule. Instead of going off the deep end and breaking into a cold sweat, remember your vision and thank your boss (mentally not out loud) for keeping you so in touch with your purpose. Close your eyes and see your goal after having achieved it and what you feel like having achieved it. Do this for five minutes and then with a clear head get back to the task at hand. You will accomplish the bosses goal and at the same time you have identified clearly in your mind your own desire and the reason it is so important to you.
An obstacle can never overpower your vision when you are passionate and committed to it. Until next week, keep living life on purpose.

It's All About Goals

Have you ever set a goal? If you have, did you actually write it out? If you did write it, pat yourself on the back, but don't get too excited, because I bet if I asked you right now what your goals were you would not be able to recite them back to me from memory! It is amazing how foreign of a concept this is to people. To be honest prior to starting on my path of personal development I had never seriously set a goal. Big mistake! I don't have exact statistics but studies have been conducted that show that people who actually write their goals down are 200%, yes 200%, more likely to acheive their goals than those who do not. How much time do you think it would take to simply write down your goals. Ten minutes, maybe fifteen? Here's the question that matters. How many of you reading this will take action? I just showed you the stats, why would I make them up, but how many people will take the simple action? I know I have mine and refer to and recite them multiple times a day. Guess what, I'm attaining my goals!
We'll see you next week for some more simple action in living life on purpose.
